The Grounds of The Collins House Inn
The inn is surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and bountiful gardens that supply many of the fresh herbs and vegetables used in the innkeeper’s breakfast creations.
The lush, green yard is a perfect setting for small outdoor venues such as weddings and reunions.
If “people watching” is of interest, guests are encouraged to relax on the front porch and take in the sights and sounds of Marion. Being right on Main Street—and in the heart of downtown—you are sure to get a flavor of “small-town America” and the friendly folks of Marion. Just settle into the rockers and relax.
Common Areas and Dining Rooms
If you prefer a quieter, softer form of relaxation, take advantage of our inn’s common areas. Both living room areas have comfortable seating—with one room having a warm, cozy fireplace for those cooler days/evenings. In addition, the third dining room can also be used as a game room or a meeting room.
Breakfast at The Collins House Inn is the crowning jewel. Guests are pampered with delectable meals that may consistiof fresh fruits, quiches, French toast, Belgian waffles, pancakes (to name a few), served with sides such as home fries, bacon and other meats, freshly baked muffins, scones, coffee cake… All breakfasts are served with juices, hot tea, or fresh-brewed coffee. Breakfast is served by candlelight in the inn’s Main Dining Room with one seating at 8:30 a..m, Don’t be surprised if your breakfast begins with dessert.
Ease into your day surrounded by warm Tuscan tones and soft background music. Are you an early riser? If so, early morning fresh brewed coffee and/or hot tea is available at 7:30 a.m.from the kitchen..
If you are in need of a smaller, more private/intimate setting, the inn also offers a dining room with seating for eight. This dining room is excellent for a small business meetings, interviews, depositions, etc.
Keurig coffees, teas, & hot chocolate are available throughout the day. Around 4 p.m., you may find fresh-baked cookies, bars, or other treats are available to enjoy. The refrigerator in the main dining room is always stocked with water and sodas.
When combined with an inn stay, The Collins House Inn is a perfect location for a small executive meeting and/or retreat, as well as small engagement parties, bridal showers, and baby showers. The Collins House Inn also is the ideal getaway for a girls’ only weekend or a scrapbook or quilting weekend.

THE COLLINS HOUSE INN BOUTIQUE
The Collins House Inn is proud to feature art and crafts from the various talented artisans in the area. If you enjoyed the luxurious robes we have in each suite and want to purchase one or two of those luxurious robes for yourself or gifts for others from Chadworth & Haig, we have those too. The holiday season will feature décor created by your innkeeper, Sue. We will have decorated wreaths, trees, ornaments, deer, and swags to brighten up your home.
RECIPES FROM THE COLLINS HOUSE INN
Here at the Inn, we pride ourselves with providing our guests with a nourishing, but not necessarily a low caloric breakfast, to start their day. We make as much as possible from “scratch” and breakfast always includes a bread, a meat, and fruit. So we have decided to publish a typical breakfast and recipes.
CHILLED STRAWBERRY SOUP
2 Cups frozen strawberries (I use fresh most of the time)
2 Cups Milk
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
2 T White Sugar (or to taste
Puree strawberries, milk, cream, and sour cream in a blender or food processor until smooth. Stir in sugar to taste. Chill 8 hours or overnight in refrigerator before serving.
Serve in chilled soup bowls, and garnish with fresh sliced strawberries.
SAUSAGE & APPLE BREAKFAST BAKE
3/4 C Pancake Mix
3/4 C Milk
2 Tbls. Sugar
1/2 lb. Breakfast Sausage (cooked & crumbled)
2 Tart Apples (very thinly sliced)
2 Tbls. Butter
Preheat oven to 425. Put 2 Tbls. butter in a pie pan and place the pan in oven until butter melts and pan is hot.
Remove pie pan from oven and cover the bottom with the thinly sliced apples; then cover with the cooked sausage.
Return to oven for 5 minutes.
While apples are cooking, combine pancake mix, sugar, milk, and eggs with a whisk until very smooth.
Remove the pan from the oven and gently pour batter on top of hot apples & sausage.
Return pan to oven and cook for 18-22 minutes or until center is puffy and set.
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes (the center will sink).
Slice into pie wedges and serve alone or with a drizzle of maple syrup.

To guarantee your reservation, a deposit of 50 percent is required for a stay of two or more nights. For reservations during NASCAR events, holidays, and other special events, a 100 percent deposit is required. A 100 percent deposit is also required for one-night stays. A major credit card is required to hold and guarantee your reservation. The balance is due upon arrival. All reservations are confirmed via email (or hard copy upon request.) Reservations, using Gift Certificates, are subject to room availability. Reservations utilizing gift cards must be made directly with the Inn. Our online webervation system does not take gift cards as payment when on line reservations are made from our website.
Check-In & Check Out Policy
Check-In Time: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you are unable to arrive during the check-in period, please notify us of your plans for arrival. Special arrangements will be made to accommodate after hour arrivals.
Check-Out Time: 10:30 a.m.
Early check-in or late check-out is available by prior arrangement only, and subject to availability.

THE COLLINS HOUSE INN IS A SMOKE-FREE PROPERTY AND HAS NO DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS. All our rooms are smoke free, and smoking is not allowed on The Collins House Inn property. Our policy is enforced for the safety and comfort of all our guests. Smoking, burning incense or candles is not allowed at The Collins House Inn. Irons are not permitted in the guest rooms. This policy is stated at the time a reservation is made and repeated in the confirmation letter. There is a $500.00 assessment on any guest violating this policy. Should a guest fail to adhere to our no-smoking policy, the guest will be asked to leave and will be charged for the entire reserved stay. The surcharge of $500.00 may not be limited to that amount depending on what is necessary to return the room to its original smoke-free condition. If the room must be taken out of availability in order to deodorize it, we will also charge, in addition to the aforementioned cost, the standard room rental rate for that room for every night it is out of service.
An iron and ironing board can be made available in the Inn common area should our guest request their use.
Robes are provided for guests and are the property of The Collins House Inn. They may be purchased in the Inn’s gift shop for $90.00. If they are “appropriated” from the guest room, an additional $125.00 will be charged to the guest per ‘missing’ robe.
Outside food may only be consumed in the Collins House “Inn Cave” room. If you need utensils etc. we will be happy to provide them. Please be considerate in consuming beverages in your room by using coasters for your beverages. Any spillage that damages the carpets,furniture or bedding will be subject to charge for the restoration. Guests are responsible for all damages that result from oversight in this food & beverage policy of the Inn. Damages to inroom items i.e. shower soap/shampoo dispensers will be subject to the Inn damage charges.These actual charges for damages will be charged to your credit card.
We do not allow pets or service animals. Rates are subject to change without notice. Rates do not include applicable tax and service charges.
Only registered guests are allowed in guest rooms.Our inn is not suitable for infants & small children. Children 12 and older will need to have their own guest room. We accept American Express, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and Cash. Checks are not accepted.
Cancellation Policy of The Collins House Inn
When you make a reservation at The Collins House Inn, your deposit becomes an assurance that you are reserving a room with us. If we accept your reservation, we have an obligation to you that, upon your arrival, we will have a room available for your stay. Because our guests are important to us, we want to make sure that you have read and understand our cancellation policy. Should you wish to cancel or change your reservation for any reason, we require 30 days’ advance notice during NASCAR events, holidays, and other special events. For other dates, 14 days’ notice is required. With a 30-day notice, for NASCAR, holidays, and special events, we will refund your deposit, less a service charge of $25.00. With a 14 day notice ,we will refund your deposit, less a service charge of $25.00
Cancellation Policy for reservations made less than 2 weeks before arrival: Rooms reserved less than 2 weeks prior to arrival require full payment at the time of reservation. These reservations are non refundable and cannot be canceled with refund except for nights we are able to resell (minus a $25 cancellation fee). Cancellations must be made by phone and with the Innkeeper. Voice mails are not acceptable. The phone number for the inn is: (276) 781-0250 open from 8am-10pm. Cancellations made through e-mail are also acceptable.Please Note: There are no exceptions to our cancellation policy, whether it is for reasons of health, family emergency or weather.

in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of southern Virginia where fall foliage season and races at Bristol are very popular attractions
