The Grounds of The Collins House Inn
The inn is surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and bountiful gardens that supply many of the fresh herbs and vegetables used in the innkeeper’s breakfast creations.
The lush, green yard is a perfect setting for small outdoor venues such as weddings and reunions.
If “people watching” is of interest, guests are encouraged to relax on the front porch and take in the sights and sounds of Marion. Being right on Main Street—and in the heart of downtown—you are sure to get a flavor of “small-town America” and the friendly folks of Marion. Just settle into the rockers and relax.
Common Areas and Dining Rooms
If you prefer a quieter, softer form of relaxation, take advantage of our inn’s common areas. Both living room areas have comfortable seating—with one room having a warm, cozy fireplace for those cooler days/evenings. In addition, the third dining room can also be used as a game room or a meeting room.
Breakfast at The Collins House Inn is the crowning jewel. Guests are pampered with delectable meals consisting of fresh fruits, quiches, French toast, Belgian waffles, pancakes (to name a few), served with sides such as home fries, bacon and other meats, freshly baked muffins, scones, coffee cake… All breakfasts are served with juices, hot tea, or fresh-brewed coffee. Breakfast is served by candlelight in the inn’s Main Dining Room, and in season, the table is adorned with fresh flowers. And don’t be surprised if your breakfast begins with dessert.
