Oral Histories from the mid 70’s of the Black Community in SW Virginia

Mount Pleasant Preservation Society Inc. Museum will join with students from Emory & Henry College in Hosting a program April 13, 2019 featuring the Oral Histories recorded in the early to mid 70s’ of Black men and women, who were in their 70′ and 80 years of life, at the time telling their stories from the days of slavery and beyond.

One of the main characters of focus will be Ms. Susie Fullen, who years later found her way back to her family, in Washington County Virginia after being Harshly Mistreated and sold away.
